Which
domain extension should I choose (.org, .net, .com, etc.)?
It depends in your website subject. There’s
no right or wrong answer for that. I usually try to get a domain that ends with
.com since people will remember it. It is very popular for everyone. If there’s
no .com available for that name, I’ll go with .net or .org.
If you are making a site for your
local audience, then choose your country domain extensions. For example, if
your main visitors are from Australia, go with “.com.au”. if your main visitors
are from Bangladesh, go with “.com.bd.” If your main visitors are from Norway,
go with the “.no” extension. It is very important for a country and user.
How can I make a Gmail like
karina@gmail.com?
At first you need to buy a domain
and hosting. If you have a hosting, you can login to your hosting cPanel (or
dashboard), and look for “emails.” There should be a place where you can create
your own email address. If you have not any email or Gmail, you need to open
your new gmail account for a new hosting. It is also very important for create
a website.
Do I need a hosting?
If you already bought a domain name,
you’ll need to get a web hosting provider, too. Otherwise, you can’t set up
your site for others to read and browse (i.e. it doesn’t go online). I
suggest you pick a hosting provider with good history. Make sure your hosting
“package” has unlimited bandwidth and disk space so you don’t have to change it
later on.
I recommend blogspot. They are well-established, and their
customer support is15/6. They are also a bit cheaper than the rest of the
hosting companies out there.I’m not located in US. Should I still use blogspot
as a hosting provider?
How can I use my domain name?
All you need to do is to sign up
with BlogSpot (or any other web hosting provider) and then connect your domain
nameservers to BlogSpot name servers.
- How to point nameservers to blogspot.
What
package should I choose on BlogSpot?
I recommend you start with the
cheapest package. It comes with everything you need to get your website up and
running, but if you want to upgrade later for some reason, you can always do
that.
